Melrose West Cork Clonakilty B&B
“Very enjoyable stay”
My Girlfriend and I booked into the Melrose a couple of weeks ago and we were very happy with our experience. Noel was very pleasant and friendly and gave us a great welcome. There is great attention to detail in the guest rooms and guest area giving it a very pleasant ambiance. It was quiet and peaceful and we got a great nights sleep. In the morning the breakfast was very tasty complete with the famous Clonakilty black and white pudding! As we departed Noel gave us some great tips on Local attractions in the Area. We especially enjoyed our trip to the local cliffs which we never would have found otherwise. Thanks Noel!

“Enjoyable B&B”
We stayed at the Melrose Bed & Breakfast in Clonakilty for two nights on a recent vacation in Ireland. It’s a very comfortable and quiet B&B on the outskirts of Clonakilty (in West Cork, Ireland). The rooms are a good size and the entire place is very clean. Breakfast was yummy and Chris was very hospitable. The Melrose is about a 15-20 minute walk to the town center of Clonakilty. We had a front room on the first floor and it was very quiet. Although it advertises free WiFi, I could never connect. Clonakilty is close to Kinsale, and many of the sights of West Cork. We’d certainly recommend this B&B.

“welcoming & enjoyable”
We stayed at the B&B for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend. Couldnt have asked for a better service & place to stay. I’m glad that we stayed here, it was close enough to town but not noisy. The owners and family were really very friendly and helpful. My wife was over the moon with the big proper hairdryer, not like typical hotel ones. Our breakfast was super & the rooms are really pretty. I would love to visit the area in the summer or spring as it is supposed to be a busy spot in season. I will most certainly be staying here again.

“awesome end to our european trip”
Spent 3 months with my other half travelling europe & Ireland was our last leg of the journey. Staying at this guesthouse was a joy, lovely people, Irish charm & incredible breakfast. There is a wonderful choice for a morning feed & brekkie tasted awesome. We got heaps of info on what to do in the area, even though the weather wasnt very good we still enjoyed our visit immensely. Mostly due to the lovely team at this house! Its also in a good location, off the main streets but close to all the town places. And of course the local pub! Maybe some day i will be back during summertime.

“Best Breakfast & Charming B&B!”
We had an awesome time in Ireland & travelled around for 3 weeks. At the end of August we came across this B&B and had an excellent 3 nights here. Clonakilty is a friendly & fun place and we really enjoyed it. Chris & Noel at the B&B gave us lots of info on what to do, where to visit & some nice places to eat. Melrose B&B was very relaxing and our room was cosy and spotless clean. The breakfast was great, with a big choice. We choose different things from the menu for each morning and sampled the full Irish Breakfast, kippers, omlettes and vegetarian (my friends a veggie!) Their homemade brown bread is the best ive tasted yet and we got plenty of everything. Id never stayed at a B&B before visiting Ireland but now Melrose Bed & Breakfast has converted me for good! I will be staying at B&B’s from now on. I hope to be back in a few years!! Liked the Breakfast! nice people, clean & pretty room & relaxed atmosphere.

“NICE B&B.”
If you are down in this part of Ireland, & want to stay at a real nice B&B the Melrose B&B is excellent. Located on a quiet street but not far from the main Hwy’s. The rooms are excellent & very modern. Meals are above par & with pleanty of food. Chris O’Brien (the owner) is a real nice fellow who will tend to your every needs. He brought us ICE for our drinks every 2 hrs… They have 2 great Labrador dogs that will entertain you for hours, if you let them, & one nice kitty…. Loved it!! We had hoped to stay there longer & to see more of the area, but unfortunately we could not. I took some pictures but for some reason only one turned out. Can’t find the rest.. Overall a real nice place to stay.
